Embark on a journey full of healing as you transform the mind, body and soul.
“After all, when a stone is dropped into a pond, the water continues quivering even after the stone has sunk to the bottom.”
– Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha
Can you imagine a beautiful tree swaying gently in the wind? Now suddenly a storm comes, causing devastation as the leaves and flowers of the tree are all swept away. The tree is standing alone, drooping with the burden of pain. For years it cannot sprout a single, new leaf. Trauma is like this storm. It eats into the soul, leaving your identity shattered into bits and pieces. It is that painful past that the heart cannot let go of. Trauma can occur in different ways, such as accidents, physical abuse or assault, sexual abuse or rape, severe neglect and abandonment or even natural disasters; the list is endless. What is common about all these types of trauma is the fact that they leave a deep, dark hole in the heart that takes years, sometimes ages to heal.
In such cases, trauma therapy is extremely important to help the person survive in the face of pain and discover a new way to connect with their bodies and their soul. Trauma therapy may not be able to change what happened to you, but it might change your perception, and only through that profound shift is healing possible.
Healing Trauma spiritual retreat is a workshop that covers the foundational understanding of how trauma is held in our bodies, and how to work with anxiety, stress and the daily overwhelm in our lives.
The National Trauma Research Centre has conducted a study which reveals that every year in Australia, approximately 10,000 people die from injuries sustained during the course of their daily lives. More children and young adults die from traumatic injury than any other cause. Every month, 30,000 injured Australians are hospitalised, and every day 600,000 Australians (and their families) live with significant and ongoing health burdens. Not only in Australia, but all around the world, trauma is leading to suicides and other mental problems. This just reinstates the fact that expert psychotherapists and counsellors who are experts at conducting trauma resolution and intervention workshops, trainings and seminars, are like a boon to the world.
A therapist or counsellor has skilful means to go beyond just the symptoms of a traumatised person. For example, there may be beautiful golden sunshine outside, but for someone coping with trauma there is complete darkness inside. The blackness is hard to describe, as it’s more than symptoms. It takes someone very experienced, loving, caring and trustworthy to actually understand the impact of the trauma inflicted. You have to take immediate steps and seek help with an experienced psychotherapist.
