The  complaint was twofold, against the Mullum Hospital and against Dr Suresh Rananavare.
It outlined inappropriate care, and misdiagnosis.
The Hospital is a smaller rural facility, and Dr Suresh is a Doctor of many years experience.

Earlier in the year the HCCC found that the hospital had not given best care, and recommendations were made. They are going to implement some changes so that the same situation can not occur again.

The HCCC have looked further into the complaint against Dr Suresh and have found that there is a case for him to answer. The Director of Proceedings has made a determination that he be prosecuted for unsatisfactory professional conduct before a Professional Standards Committee.
