CALIFORNIA, USA

We had a very beautiful celebration for Disha yesterday. About 60 people came, plus a lot of young children, the "kids' kids." It was beautiful to have them there. We started out with Disha singing "How long must I wait..." Then I read some parts from her two articles. Very strong. A few people shared a bit about Disha. I was especially touched when Manohar told us that Disha had said she was so tired (not her words) of people seeing her still as the child she once was and that she longed to be seen as a woman.
I had put together excerpts from what Osho said after Vipassana died, which felt so appropriate for Disha. Osho saying that he could understand that our hearts were sad and heavy and then encouraging us to give her a good send-off. Finally lots of songs with live music. It felt very healing.
A lot of tears, but also a lot of hugs and love for Disha and for each other.

Big hugs to you,
Avinasho

[AFTERMATH]

Hi Rups love,
Just wanted to tell you that we had a very lovely celebration at Rajyo's
house last night; I think it must have been while folks were starting to
arrive in Disha's house.
Alima (Disha's neighbor; Nandan is staying in her house) told us a lot about
the celebration that was about to happen for Disha. She also read the text
Rafia had prepared to introduce the celebration over there. It was lovely to
be able to connect with you all in that way.
Many people shared their loving memories of Disha; a lot of tears. We
listened to some tracks of Disha's CD and sang for her.
I kept waking up in the night, checking the time, and thinking of what you
guys might be doing now.
Sending you all much, much love,

Avinasho

Beloved...

.... and others came last night. Navyo played the
guitar, and we sang Holy Fire, and Fligh High,
and Into your Hands, and Sunrise over the Mountain (subsituting Disha for
sunrise). It was
very intimate and strong.

I imagine you all now sitting in vigil in the Mediation
Room and send all my love and prayers for our beloved Dish.

much much love

alima

It is really amazing that there will be readings
and pujas from the Tibetan bardo's happening every day
for 49 days in Sey Rinpoche's Gompa in Vashist near
here. The Gompa is the one that Disha and Rafia did a
retreat at some years ago. The readings will be done
by very experienced monks from the Drukpa Kargyu
lineage, all of them having completed 3 year long
silences! Ageha, Garimo, Smita and I went there today
and lit many butter lamps for Disha, visualising her
singing and dancing in bliss. This is to give her
positive energy and not to hold her back with feelings
of sadness and grief.

Yesterday a Powa was done for her by Drukpa Choegon
Rinpoche. He is an emanation of Vajrapani. His
Eminence-Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche is one of the lineage
holders in the Drukpa Kargyu lineage and is the 9
emanation of his lineage of incarnations
and was recognized at 3 years of age by H.H. the 16th
Karmapa. His previous lifetimes are traced back to
ancient India where he was the Lord Shakyamuni
Buddha´s disciple and personal attendanat, Ananda.

Most of this information goes over my head but I feel
that it is most fitting that Disha should get such a
send off!!

Sey Rinpoche and his monks are in Ladhak, the road &
bridges are down &
broken
at several points
but-that´s sort of normal

Yesterday i was up at 3.45,getting ready to drive to
Sarahbha,to see
Choegon Rinpoche
with my dear old friend,Thrinlay Chodon, she is now
teaching....
back from her tour in USA
...on her way to teach in Oz,in Dzongsar Khyntse´s
center,near Byron
anyway, iwas an magical coinsidense, that Thrinlay is
here now
giving me qualified advice
how to goabout Disha`s Bardo situation

we asked Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche to do the Powa for
Disha.
He is an emanation of Vajrapani,
His Eminence-Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche is one of the
lineage holders
in the Drukpa Kargyu lineage
Choegon Rinp. is the 9 emanation of his lineage of
incarnations
and was recognized at 3 years of age ,by H.H. the
16.Karmapa
His previous lifetimes are traced back to ancient
India
where he was the Lord Shakyamuni Buddha´s disciple and
personal
attendanat,Ananda.

so,we asked him to do the Powa for Disha.

Kullu-Manali is also considered to be a holy place of
Chakrasamvara
and so it was visited by Padmasambhava and many of the
great Mahasiddhas.

For the Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhist understanding
today is a very important day for Disha
as she is since 1 week in the Bardo

I will light many butterlamps in Sey Rinpoche´s Gompa
for Disha today
and have arranged with a very old tibetan lama &
meditator,who did a 3 year
retreat,do prayers and the big Bardo puja with all the
monks ,as soon as
they are back from Ladhak,
at the right day for Disha,

Garimo & Ashvagosha
